Student Visa Requirements
Student visas are commonly referred to as F and M visas.
The requirements for obtaining one of these visas include:
- Enrollment in an academic, language-training, or vocational training program at a government-qualified school
- Your course of study must be full-time
- Able to speak English or enrollment in an English program
- Enough funds to maintain your entire course of studies
- Maintenance of your residency in your home country
F-1 student visas are for students enrolled in an academic program that leads to a diploma, degree, or certificate. While studying in your first year, you are not allowed to work off-campus but may be allowed to work on-campus in the following years, subject to certain conditions.
M-1 student visas are for students pursuing nonacademic or vocational programs.
